OR Wildfire Emergency Order 2026-6

The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation (“DFR”) has recently released Bulletin No. DFR 2026-6 regarding affected areas subject to a wildfire emergency order, applicable to all authorized property and casualty insurers in Oregon. The key highlights are as follows:

  • On July 31, 2026, the Director of the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (“Director”) issued a Wildfire Emergency Order (“Order”) that ordered all insurers to immediately (i) take certain enumerated actions for reporting of claims for all policies in the Affected Areas; (ii) institute a grace period for premium payment for all such policies, ending no earlier than the first date on which the Order is no longer in effect; and (iii) adhere to certain cancellation and nonrenewal directions for all such policies.
  • The Director has determined that the circumstances and conditions described in the Order still exist and hereby extends the effective period of the Order for a period of 30 days.
