NC Insurance Carrier Data Call Bulletins

The North Carolina Department of Insurance (“Department”) has recently released Bulletins 26-B-05 and 26-B-06 regarding data and consent to rate data collection. The key highlights are as follows:

  • Bulletin 26-B-05 is applicable to all property and casualty insurers writing homeowners coverage in North Carolina and their annual reporting requirements for insurance covering loss to residential real property with not more than four housing units:
    • All data from homeowners insurance policies shall be reported, including the consent to rate data.
    • Only insurers that have data to report on homeowners policies must complete this Data Call.
    • Data for homeowners policy forms HO-2, HO-3, HO-5, HO-7, and HO-8, is required.
    • The information and data requested by the Department should be submitted no later than April 10th, 2026.
  • Bulletin 26-B-06 is applicable to all property and casualty insurers writing nonfleet private passenger motor vehicle physical damage and homeowners coverage in North Carolina and their semi-annual reporting requirements for insurance covering loss to nonfleet private passenger motor vehicle physical damage and residential real property with not more than four housing units.
    • The information and data requested by the Department only applies to companies that issued Consent to Rate policies during the period 7/1/2025-12/31/2025.
    • If companies have not written any consent to rates during the above mentioned period, they do not need to comply with this data call.
    • The reply submission should be submitted no later than April 13, 2026.

Please note that both Bulletins became effective upon issuance on March 3, 2026.
